According to
reports.Manchester City are poised to sign Barcelona keeper
Marc-Andre ter Stegen from under the noses of Liverpool.
The Telegraph claims Ter Stegen will join up with Pep Guardiola at The Etihad next season and snub a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Both clubs have lodged bids for the 23-year-old, but Ter Stegen is
keen to join up with Guardiola and provide competition for Joe Hart.
The paper reports Ter Stegen
will be the second player to make the move after midfielder Ilkay
Gundogan to choose Guardiola and City over Liverpool ahead of the summer
transfer window.
City will pay around £20million to land Ter Stegen with current City No 2 keeper Willy Caballero set to leave.
Germany international Ter Stegen joined Barcelona in 2014 from
Borussia Monchengladbach, but has become frustrated with life under Luis
Enrique.
Claudio Bravo is first choice in La Liga, with Ter Stegen used in the Champions League and Cop del Rey.
Earlier this week, Ter Stegen admitted his future at the Nou Camp was unclear.
“I’m not considering myself with other clubs because the situation doesn’t currently oblige me to,” he told German outlet sport1.de.

“Football is my job and all that matters is the present, the next
game. I am not going to be wasting time considering what I do next.
Barca are a great club and things can still change between now and the
summer.
“If the situation remains the way it is at the moment, however, then
we’re definitely going to have to talk – there’s no avoiding that.”
