Happy mother Madonna reunited with her son Rocco on Sunday (10Apr16) after appearing to strike a custody deal with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie.
The former
Hollywood couple has been locked in a bitter legal battle since December
(15), when 15-year-old Rocco refused to return to his mother's home in
New York in favour of staying with his filmmaker father in London.
Judges in both cities ordered Madonna
and Ritchie to work together for the sake of their boy, and the pop
superstar, who recently completed her Rebel Heart World Tour in
Australia, was photographed arriving in the U.K. capital on Thursday
(07Apr16) for peace talks with her ex.
The discussions seemingly went well as Ritchie was photographed dropping
Rocco off at his mum's London mansion on Sunday (10Apr16) for a visit.
The teenager was also spotted smiling as he emerged from Madonna's pad
two hours later to go skateboarding with a friend.
Details about the reported custody agreement have yet to be revealed,
but Madonna hinted that things were progressing in an Instagram post on
Thursday, when she shared a 'selfie' and captioned it, "YES! Good things
are coming!".
The mother and son
reunion occurred days after Ritchie and Rocco returned from a family
vacation in the Maldives, where they relaxed with the director's new
wife, Jacqui, and their three young children.
Madonna and Ritchie are due to appear before a New York family court
judge in June (16), when their lawyers are expected to outline a custody
deal.
The singer has yet to comment on
her son's visit, but she shared her heartache over her personal problems
with fans on tour. In a special set in Melbourne, Australia last month
(Mar16), she dedicated the track Intervention to her eldest boy.
"Everybody knows the saga of me and my son Rocco," an emotional
Madonna explained to the crowd. "It's not a fun story to tell or think
about. I probably would have enjoyed myself a bit more on this tour if
he hadn't have disappeared so suddenly. I'm going to dedicate this song
to him."
Madonna has been vocal in her
desire for her son to return to New York often using Instagram to convey
emotional messages, however, the source claims Rocco feels "she is more
concerned with proving Guy wrong" and less concerned with what he
actually wants.
The location and date of
the meeting have yet to be decided but Madonna is keen to make progress
ahead of their scheduled 1 June court date.
Madonna was granted primary custody of Rocco after splitting from
Ritchie in 2008. The pair are also parents to adopted son David, 10, who
attended Ritchie's wedding to Jacqui last August (15). The pop star is
also mum to daughters Lourdes, 19, and Mercy, 10, who was also adopted.
