They finalised their divorce a year ago (Mar15), weeks before the former Olympian went public with his gender dysphoria struggles in a candid TV interview with U.S. newswoman Diane Sawyer.
During the chat, the retired athlete revealed he was in the midst of transitioning from male to female, but he expected to continue dating women.
"I'm not gay," he told Diane. "I am as far as I know, heterosexual. I've never been with a guy, I've always been married, raising kids."
However, in a new promotional teaser for the 66-year-old's second season of reality show I Am Cait, she confesses she is "open" to a relationship with "a very special guy".
Discussing the revelation in an interview with U.S. breakfast show Today, Caitlyn admits settling down with a man is always a possibility, although she has little time to explore her options just now.
"I know people are always interested in that," Caitlyn mused. "Right now, I am just so busy kind of doing what I'm doing. But it would be nice to kind of share your life with somebody. But hey, I'm open."
The news came as a surprise to Caitlyn's ex-wife, Kris Jenner, who opened up briefly about the topic on a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"I saw that, too," Kris said of Caitlyn's willingness to date men. "(It's) confusing for sure."
However, Kris made it clear she fully supports her ex-spouse's sexual orientation, adding she hopes Caitlyn finds happiness.
"I think that I really want her to be happy and be really comfortable in all the things where she says she wasn't her true authentic self for most of her life," she stated. "(She) knew when she was four that she felt like that. So you don't want somebody to be miserable or in pain or anything of that."

The former couple share daughters Kendall and Kylie, while Caitlyn, who was married three times, also has eight other children from previous relationships.
