Musa Inuwa Kubo, the Borno State Commissioner of Education, made this
known while addressing journalists on Monday on the premise of
Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) in Maiduguri.
He disclosed that the relocation could have started last year, but
was delayed due to logistical and security reasons. 602 IDPs, along
with their family members in other camps, will be relocated to Dalori.
"We promised [to relocate] them earlier, and that the schools at
their new location will be of the same quality of their current
location.
“Now that we [State government] have these basic humanitarian and
camp facilities in place, we are starting the relocation. Immediately
after the relocation, the schools are going to be re-opened," Mr. Kubo
said.
He assured the people of Borno State that all of the schools shut down due to the insurgency will be reopened within a month.

He maintained that the International Committee of the Red Cross
(ICRC) has built enough family size tents to accommodate the relatives
of the IDPs who have been living separately in other camps in Maiduguri
for over two years.
