Bill Cosby Files For Dismissal Of Lawsuit Against Beverly Johnson

Lawsuit involving Bill Cosby and Berverly Johnson is taking a new turn as Bill Cosby is seeking to take one legal matter off his hands by filing to dismiss his defamation lawsuit against former model Beverly Johnson.

She accused Cosby of attempting to drug her by reportedly slipping something into her coffee during a visit to his California home, while she auditioned for a part in his hit sitcom The Cosby Show in the 1980s.
The former supermodel first described the alleged encounter with the comic in a Vanity Fair magazine article in December, 2014. A year later, in December (15), Cosby's lawyers filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, dismissing Johnson's account as "false, malicious, opportunistic, and defamatory".
But now, Cosby's lawyers are requesting that the lawsuit be put on hold for the time being, as the embattled comedian needs to devote all his attention to his pending criminal case, according to TMZ.com.
Cosby's attorney insist he plans to refile the case once Cosby's current legal battle is over, and before the statue of limitations runs out.
Cosby is currently facing an aggravated indecent assault charge for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Pennsylvania home in 2004.

The funnyman has been accused of rape, drugging, and performing inappropriate sex acts by over 50 women. The comic, who has never been charged in relation to any of the incidents, maintains he is innocent.
