The Kogi State Police Command has paraded twenty-one persons in
connection with the killing of a police officer during a shootout with
armed robbers who attacked a community bank in Adavi Local
Government
Area of the state.
The deceased officer, Sgt. Patrick Sunday was killed alongside two of the armed robbers, Yakubu and another unidentified male.
While
parading the suspects at the state command headquarters in Lokoja on
Tuesday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, said
the incident happened on November 27, adding that the hoodlums engaged
the police in a gun duel, leading to the death of Sergeant Sunday, while
two of the criminals were also killed.
Aya said the police recovered from the robbery scene two AK47 Riffles,
ten AK 47 Magazines, one hundred AK 47 live ammunition, one face mask,
one Techno and ITEL mobile phone, one crape bandage, one pack of cotton
wool, one bottle of Dettol and two sachet of hard drugs.
