A mum has defended buying her children 300 Christmas presents after being trolled by online haters.
Emma Tapping came under fire when she posted this snap of her Christmas tree almost piled to the
top with gifts. It went on to get shared more than 50,000 times and she was even accused of "abusing" her kids by spoiling them too much.
But generous Emma told This Morning she saves up all year round and starts buying in the January sales to be able to give her family the best Christmas she can.
The mum-of-three from the Isle of Man said: "The way I see it is you can buy your kids two presents or 200 presents - it's the way you bring them up.
"My kids know the difference between right and wrong, they appreciate everything they get, and they don't get spoiled throughout the year.
"We don't go on expensive holidays. If they break something, like their phone, they've got to save up their money to replace it.
"My daughter wrecked her school shoes after a week, she had to save her pocket money up to replace them."
Altogether, Emma estimates she has spent around £1,500 on presents, is not in debt and doesn't even own a credit card.
She said: "I'm not rich. I literally start from January, use every bargain that I can and I shop all year round to make the pile as big as it is and I start wrapping presents in August.
"Martin Money Expert, I follow him religiously. I do all the sales. Anything that's full price I refuse to pay for.
"And I do it all year round to give my kids the best Christmas I can."
