The battle over their teenage son became a war of the
picture album for Guy Ritchie and Madonna yesterday. The former couple traded photos on the Instagram social
network to try to show who had
the better Christmas.
Ritchie’s new wife Jacqui posted a picture of their wedding
day in July with Rocco standing by her side smiling and the caption ‘Happy
holidays with love from the Ritchies’.
Her sentimental posts comes soon after the singer described
15-year-old Rocco the 'sunshine in my life', posting a throwback snap of the
pair of them.
The family appear to be in a fractious state as the teenager
shared a video of his Christmas in London - as she and ex-husband Guy battle
over where the teen will live.
While Rocco was flaunting his usual edgy ways by sharing a
clip on Instagram showing him skateboarding on the underground, Madonna gushed
about her son on the photosharing site.
Rocco appeared to be enjoying the London life as he jetted
around on a skateboard, after relocating to the UK while his passport is held
in the capital in the midst of the custody battle.
While the teen was sharing his video, his mother Madonna was
quick to share her festive sentiment toward her beloved son.
She shared a cute throwback snap of the duo as they both
enjoyed a laugh, while adding the caption: 'Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my
Life!'
As the mother and son shared images on social media of their
respective Christmases and memories, Guy's wife-of-six-months Jacqui was also
taking to social media.
The stunning model posted a throwback image of the duo's
July wedding with Rocco standing beside the happy couple.
The model took to Instagram on Christmas day to share the
image with the words 'Happy holidays, with love from The Richies' emblazoned
upon the shot.
Jacqui's display of unity appeared to wave the flag for the
Richies, where the picture also saw Madonna and Guy's adopted son David, 10,
stand next to the bride and groom.
The duo's summer wedding looked idyllic with Guy wearing a
straw fedora and Jacqui rocking a flower garland while Rocco stood alongside in
a bowtie and braces.
Rocco is said to have grown upset after being on the road
for two months on the popstar’s Rebel Heart tour where he worked backstage.
Fans are now speculating if his mother's insistence on
embarrassing him by posting a catalogue of awkward photos of him online has proved
to be the straw that has broken the camel's back, forcing the teen away.
He is said to have accompanied the singer for much of the
trip, which included dates across the US and Canada including Vancouver, Los
Angeles and Washington.
As Guy and Madonna work out the transatlantic custody
dispute, their son’s passport is said to be being held for safekeeping in
London by a lawyer who is representing him.
The row became public on Wednesday when Madonna, 57, went to
court in New York to try and force Rocco to return to the US to spend Christmas
with her.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan ruled that he
has to return to America some time before the start of the new school year.
The exact source of Rocco’s frustration is not clear but
Madonna has posted numerous pictures and videos of him on Instagram that could
have caused him embarrassment.
In May she posted one video of him doing a back flip wearing
orange underwear with the caption ‘Rocco’s preferred profile #nosausage’.
It was seen by her 4.7 million followers on the photo
sharing app.
In an interview in August, Madonna said that Rocco did not
want to perform on stage with her and would be working backstage on her tour as
‘your mom is not cool’ at his age.
In September Madonna gave Rocco a girly makeover and posted
a picture of him with his long dyed blonde hair in bunches whilst he appeared
to cringe.
A source told the New York Post: ‘The boy said he didn’t want to stay with her. He’s not getting along with his mum, which is not a surprise for a child that age’.
During the hearing at the Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday
Mr Ritchie’s lawyer Eric Buckley said that Rocco has ‘expressed very clearly’
that he did not want to return to New York.
Justice Kaplan said that Rocco should fly to the US and that
if he wanted to live with his father full-time he had to go and see his mother
first.
Under the terms of the New York divorce Rocco and David
Banda, 10, their other adopted son, will live with Madonna.

Ritchie whilst friends of his have claimed that her strict diet, Kabbalah
religion and obsession with yoga made her hard to live with.
Guy's lawyer in London, Helen Ward, declined to comment,
while his spokesman was unavailable.
Madonna’s lawyer in London, Fiona Shackleton, was not
available for comment neither was her spokesman.
