Embattled governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, whose
election was upturned by the Court of Appeal, has been face with another
hurdle.
One of those that decamped was Mr Ndubuisi Nwankwo, who was
recently appointed a member of the governing council of the Ignatius Ajuru
University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers state by Governor Nyesom Wike.
Mr Ndubuisi Nwankwo reportedly led 87 leaders of the PDP in
local government area of Rivers state to the APC few days ago.
While receiving them, Asita O Asita, the deputy governorship
candidate of the APC, commended their courage and claimed that the PDP has lost
its popularity in Rivers State.
Another PDP stalwart, Chief Matthew Aleru, has also being
registered as a member of the APC.
Similarly, a former PDP chieftain, Chief Bekinbo Soberekon,
reportedly visited the APC secretariat recently to register his membership and
received his membership card.
Another Igochukwu Dim who ran for the Emohua/Ikwerre federal
constituency seat under the PDP has also defected with his numerous supporters.
Many commentators claim that these defection may hamper
Governor Wike's victory in the re-run election ordered by the Court of Appeal.
