At least four people have been killed in an explosion at a cooking
gas plant in south-eastern Nigeria, a Red Cross spokesman had said.
The blast happened as a truck was discharging butane gas at the plant
in Nnewi town, Anambra state, at the same time customers were refilling
their gas bottles, people nearby claimed.
Red Cross spokesman Peter Kachi said four people had been killed and four others injured.
"The gas plant was completely destroyed and several houses around the scene damaged," he said.
