He appeared before Londonderry
Magistrates Court today, accused of raping a woman in May last
year. The journalist faces two additional
charges of sexual assault on the same date.
A prosecution lawyer said she
believed the defendant had a case to answer.
When asked if he had anything to say
to the charges, he replied "no".
The District Judge said that as part
of his bail conditions the defendant must continue to reside at his Northland
Road address in Derry and he must not contact the complainant nor any other
witnesses in the case.
He was released on bail of £500
until the next hearing at Crown Court on January 6.
