Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State has
commended a member of the House of Representatives, Olajide Jimoh for
donating security gadgets to various sections of the Lagos Mainland
Federal Constituency.
The governor, who was impressed by the gesture, stated that,
“Jimoh’s initiative is the first of its kind in the history of Lagos
State.”
Speaking through his Commissioner for Local Government and
Community Affairs, Musliu Folami, Ambode challenged other office
holders to emulate Jimoh’s efforts in view of the security challenges
facing the country, asserting that, “security issue is a collective
responsibility of all.”
Jide Jimoh, who represents Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency in
the National Assembly, distributed hand-held metal detectors to all the
mosques, churches, schools and communities within his constituency.
In his remarks on the occasion, Jimoh, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said “the gadgets

will check, to a large extent, illegal entries into our communities, schools and places of worship.”
While stating that prevention is better than cure, the young
politician was of the view that taking preemptive measure against crime
occurrence was preferable to searching for solution to crimes already
committed.
Lagos chapter chairman of the APC, Chief Henry Oladele Ajomole in his
goodwill address at the event, commended Jimoh for the initiative,
which is in line with APC’s policy.
