Airport Worker Dies After Being Sucked into Passenger Jet's Engine

The technician was killed as the jet pushed back for takeoff while carrying passengers at Mumbai airport in India.
The accident is said to have happened when the Air India plane's co-pilot mistook a signal from
ground staff for an indication that the jet was ready for takeoff.
Flight AI 619 had been due to fly to Hyderabad in India's south when the incident happened.
Air India's chairman and managing director Ashwani Lohani said the airline was left "deeply saddened" by the death of the man, named locally as Ravi Subramanian.
"We are deeply saddened & regret the tragic incident @ Mumbai airport this evening when an Air India technician died in a mishap during pushback of flight AI 619," Air India tweeted.
"The incident is being investigated. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family."
Air India has not reported an annual profit since 2007.
In 2010, 158 people were killed when one of its planes crash landed after over-shooting a runway in Mangalore
