The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has appointed 15 more Special Advisers into his cabinet.
This brings the total number of Special Advisers to 35, in addition to 21 Commissioners.
Swearing-in
the new Special Advisers, the State Governor, Nyesom Wike admonished
them to dedicate their effort to the growth of the state.
Wike cautioned the SA’s against trying to enrich themselves with
their offices adding that “everyone must work to achieve the new Rivers
vision.”
Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State
says the fifteen special advisers appointed by Governor Nyesom Wike will
never be allocated portfolios.

The APC stated that there were no more offices to be assigned to the new appointees.
In
a statement signed by its state Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone,
the APC accused the Governor of allocating portfolios to the new
commissioners one month before swearing-in.
The Party also condemned the confirmation of the Justice Diasy Okocha as
the substantive Chief Judge of Rivers State by the state House of
Assembly, adding that they were compelled by the Governor to make such
confirmation even without forming a quorum.
